Review:

I don’t know what more I can add to this book that hasn’t been said already, but honestly I loved it. It’s a tender story of the Windrush generation and their stories in Britain.

Told over multiple timelines with multiple points of view, Lucinda’s story is unfolded and this is the perfect way to hear it. While her children talk us through the present, she shares her own story of her arrival, her struggles and pain in 1960’s Britain.

It didn’t have the ended I thought as I read through but the ending is possibly the most perfect one too. It’s moving, it’s a tear jerker and I need you to read it. It’s also so so beautiful on audio, I think that was the best way to read this.

This is not one to be missed and I can’t wait to see what they write next.
