Bookish Confessions

It’s time to spill the tea. Here are my bookish confessions that I both think you need to know, and will make you feel better about your own reading habits.

I struggle to DNF (Did Not Finish). After so many years of reading, I still really struggle with this DNF’ing a book. I’m great at pausing them but realistically I need to put them down for good.

Positive naivety. I go into every book refusing to believe that anything bad can happen! Thrillers and character deaths absolutely floor me!

A growing TBR (To Be Read). I buy books quicker than I read them, they’re two different hobbies! My shelves are groaning but I’m trying to get better at this. I have some reading goals set around my physical TBR this year!

Mood reader energy. I’m a typical mood reader, I’ll more often than not have multiple books on the go at the same time. I pick up and put down books a lot.

No reading goals. I stopped setting a reading goal this year and it’s been brilliant for me. It’s taken away a lot of the stress I used to bring on myself.

Bookmark hoarding. Despite having quite the collection, I probably only use 3-5 bookmarks on rotation.

Lazy tabbing. I like tabbing books up with quotes I’ve found interesting or moving, but I can’t always be bothered too. It’s very mood dependant.
