The Bookish Mindset

The new year is well and truly underway and it’s time to find something great to curl up with. Get the kettle on, the blankets prepped and snuggle up with a new book. Sounds perfect, right? It’s definitely the perfect time to pick up a book being the National Year of Reading too, we’re ready to Go All In!

The Golden Boy’s Guide to Bipolar – Sonora Reyes. Literary. Paperback. From the author of The Lesbiana’s Guide to Catholic School comes another YA masterpiece. Cesar is struggling with not only the catholic guilt, but also the thoughts. Publish date: 15/01.

The Poet Empress – Shen Tao. Fantasy. Hardback. A dynasty plunges into civil war at the death of an emperor, but others plot for power. Publish date: 20/01.

Early mornings at the Laksa Café – Janet Tay. Magical Realism. Hardback. A small kitchen making the best Laksa broth in Kuching, with no family to carry on it’s legacy. Publish date: 22/01.

An Arcane Inheritance – Kamilah Cole. Romantasy. Paperback. From the author of So Let Them Burn, comes her first Adult Romantasy novel with Dark Academia twists. Think secret societies and sacrifices. Publish date: 29/01.

Belgrave Road – Manish Chauhan. Literary Hardback. Like many others, Mira and Tahliil meet at work. But outside of that, their lives couldn’t be more different. Publish date: 29/01.

Dominion – Addie E. Citchens. Literary. Hardback. Told through the eyes of women who love two men in the parish, this is set to be an addictive drama. Publish date: 29/01.

The Seven Daughters of Dupree – Nikesha Elise Williams. Literary. Hardback. Seven generations of women, with legacy passed down between them. But secrets have been kept too.. I’m so ready for this one! Publish date: 29/01.
