Every now and then I love giving you an insight into what I have coming up on my bookshelves and reading list. I’ve had a little work through and sort out as we come up to the last couple of months (where have they gone?!). Here’s ten books I’m looking forward to reading before the end of the year. In no order and a great mix of genres.

Necessary Fiction – Eloghosa Osunde. Literary fiction about love in all it’s forms. I’ve heard such great things about this one already, I’m so ready!
Firstborn of the Sun – Marvellous Michael Anson. High fantasy with Yoruba roots, multiple POV and there’s a map in the front. What’s not to love?
Black Sun – Rebecca Roanhorse. Indigenous rep YA fantasy trilogy where solar eclipses aren’t always for celebration. I’ve had my eye on this for a while.
White Tears / Brown Scars – Ruby Hamad. “How White Feminism Betrays Women of Colour”. This is right up my street and I’m sure it’s going to be a good one.
As Long As The Lemon Tree Grows – Zoulfa Katouh. A heart breaking story set in the midst of the Syrian revolution. Be ready for tears!
Unwell Women – Elinor Cleghorn. A look into how women’s bodies have been abused, demands ignored and ultimately feared.
Ace of Spades – Farifah Àbíké-Íyímídé. YA dark academia that is going to be perfect for this time of year, I can just feel it!
Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi. Another start of a fantasy trilogy steeped in African mythology.
Black Cake – Charmaine Wilkerson. Messy families and long lost secrets. I’m ready for juicy literary.
And the River Drags Her Down – Jihyun Yun. A YA horror set around resurrecting the dead. It has such a pretty cover, I’m really intrigued.
Have you planned to pick any of these up? I’d love to know!
