September New Releases

Look at new release lists and the bombardment from Booktok and Bookstagram can feel like a lot when you’re trying to find a new book. Autumn is well and truly on its way and it’s time to find something to curl up with. Each month I create an exclusive list of the months new releases for our patreon group, it’s one of the groups favourite features.

The Amberglow Candy Store – Hiyoko Kurisu & Matt Treyvaud. Literary. Hardback. A half-fox shopkeeper learns emotional life lessons from his customers. Publish date: 18/09

A Splintering – Dur e Aziz Amna. Literary. Hardback. An “unforgettable story of a woman’s fight for freedom in modern day Pakistan”. Publish date: 04/09

Cursed Daughters – Oyinkan Braithwaite. Literary. Hardback. Sequel to My Sister, The Serial Killer. Eniiyi is forced to face her family’s dark past after she falls in love. Publish date: 25/09

Sisters in the Wind – Angeline Boulley. Literary. Paperback. The third novel set on Sugar Island following Firekeepers Daughter and Warrior Girl Unearthed. I loved this one. Publish date: 04/09

The Transition – Logan-Ashley Kisner. Fantasy. Paperback. From the author of Old Wounds, comes a tale of a trans teen who is bitten by a werewolf during their top surgery. Publish date: 11/09

Blood Over Bright Haven – M. L. Wang. Dark Academia. Paperback. The first woman is let into a historically male magic academy, but what she uncovers will change everything. This is one of my favourites. Publish date: 25/09

The Vagina Business – Marina Gerner. Non-Fiction. Paperback. An interesting review of the technology being developed for vagina owners. Publish date: 25/09

Make Me A Monster – Kalynn Bayron. Fantasy. Paperback. A YA Frankenstein inspired novel where the dead aren’t staying dead. Publish date: 30/09

Sad Girl Hours – Anna Zoe Quirke. Romance. Paperback. Sapphic romance with SAD and autistic rep, with dual POV too.Publish date: 04/09

Someone Like Me – Clem Bastow & Jo Case. Non-Fiction. Paperback. “An anthology of non-fiction by autistic writers”. A collection of creative pieces from gender-diverse and women writers. Publish date: 25/09
