One sentence summary: A collection of conversations on love with both experts in the fields and authors, covering everything that comes under the umbrella of love.
One sentence review: There’s some really beautiful parts of this book and while not everything will resonate with everyone, there’s such to be something you’ll find that you need to hear.
Review:
This book really does what it says on the tin. It’s a collection of interviews with a myriad of hosts about love in all its forms: love of friends, love with grief, love that never came to be and much more.
Guest speakers include experts in the field like Emily Nagoski plus authors like Juno Dawson, Candice Carty-Williams and Roxane Gay too.
But the book isn’t just a collection of essays, each chapter begins with Lunn reflecting on her own life and dealing with losses and changes within it. There’s reflection on each interview and lovely thought pieces as well.
One quote I really loved and resonated with is “We need different people in our lives to see the different parts of who we are” and I love it.
This is definitely a book for those interested in the topics but it’s also a book for those feeling a little lost in their relationships. Give this to the friend learning to love themselves after a breakup, or the serial dater that is scared of commitment. There’s something for everyone here.
