One sentence summary: Jade has everything she’s wanted and worked hard for, but a work encounter threatens to uproot all of that.

One sentence review: A dark but brilliantly written read, I couldn’t put it down.

Review:

Jade had it all: the job she’d worked her life for, the boyfriend to match, everything was working out. That is until a work event threw all of that into disarray..

I’m not really sure where to begin with this one, other it’s absolutely necessary reading and you need to read as soon as you possibly can.

Through the course of the book Jade goes through a lot, and you feel all of that with her. My overwhelming feeling was “UGH, men!” but that simplifies it far too much. There is so much darkness, there are so many people that let her down. It makes for heavy, heavy reading.

But saying that, I couldn’t stop myself picking it up. Lee’s writing is addictive. It’s easy reading (style not content!) and I found myself on multiple occasions speeding through. It’s testament to Lee’s writing that on such a dark topic that will shake you to your core, that I still couldn’t not read it. I’m really excited to see what she writes next.
