One sentence summary: Worlds fall apart after a death in the family but with accusing in laws, the pain won’t go away.
One sentence review: One of the best books on grief that I’ve ever read.
Review:
Eve’s husband commits suicide on New Years Eve and understandably, her world falls apart.
With no note left and no visible warning signs, she shuts down. While her family try in what ways they can to support, she knows she’s not ready to move on, she needs time to adjust to this new life. Her mother in law certainly isn’t helping with that either..
If you’ve ever lost someone then this book will resonate with you. Nwabineli has such a beautiful way with words that gets you caught up and emotionally engaged in the story so quickly.
I felt Eve’s pain the whole way through this, I’m normally a crier anyway but let me tell you I SOBBED. Yes this book is about loss but it’s absolutely about love and family and friendship bonds too.
Prepare for tears and get this book on your shelf. Nwabineli is an author that is going to go far.
