Overview:

Title: Remember, Remember

Genre: Historical

One sentence summary: A retelling and twist on the gunpowder plot, with a clever narrative and a great suite of characters.

One sentence review: A brilliant retelling that’s bursting with heart and soul, I was hooked from the beginning.

Review:

Delphine escaped from her master but her brother is still trapped. The deal he struck to pay his way out through boxing is almost up. But Vincent’s last fight doesn’t quite go as planned and neither do the events that follow..

So I really enjoyed this one! It also absolutely fits my recommendation list of taking down the establishment! See the full list here.

I thought the plot was clever and twisty and turny, it moved quickly, especially over the second half. I definitely misunderstood this as a gunpowder plot retelling, but the book is set after the plot happens and as you can see all over the beautiful cover, it definitely is gunpowder plot themed! This absolutely wasn’t a negative when reading and enjoyed it more than I thought because of that!

Our protagonists are headstrong and driven by their hearts and honestly it was just a really lovely read. There are characters you are going to love and ship for sure.

If you’re a historical fiction fan I absolutely recommend you pick this one up!
