If an evening in with a glass of wine and great book is your ideal night then BookBar is the bookshop you absolutely need to visit.

Set on Highbury’s bustling high street, owner Chrissie opened BookBar in 2021. Since then it’s grown from strength with it’s monthly book club and frequent book events.

I can personally vouch for these – I’ve been to quite a few (Nikki May and Celine Pin are standouts!) and they’re well organised and thought out. A lovely night out and I wholeheartedly recommend. Just make sure you’re on their email list to get access to the events as soon as they go live, they sell out quickly!

BookBar have a brilliant selection of book, with great representation of authors of colour, women and LGBTQIA authors too. New releases grace the windows and walking past the front desk you’ll find bustling shelves with recommendations and some that have wine pairings too.

The cafe and bar is open all day, ready for you to relax with your new read.
